I don’t understand the idea behind the current regime’s docking points for getting rid of followers.

There is one guy who was HUGE in the Rain at one time and then was banished. I would like to get rid of him. But, when I try, I get “This user no longer exists.” Well, he exists on my following list, Buster!

Then there are others who have dropped off the face of the earth, oh, I mean ActiveRain, same thing, right?

But, I dare not unsubscribe or I will lose points.

I have tons of people that I started out with and a good many of them still post from time to time, and they are really worth reading when they do.

And, I have a bunch of followers who have never commented on a post I have written.

That gives me a bit of an inferiority complex. I know that I am not the best writer here, and I don’t “captivate” an audience, but, surely, (I know, don’t call you Shirley!) once in a while I might say something one could comment on.

Well, this isn’t exactly a rant. It’s more of a what the ????

You can comment, or not. It is only my feelings that will be hurt! LOL!

Ron, You can unfollow if it has been over six months and will not lose points. However there must be a system glitch that will not allow you to get rid of someone that is already gone.

It's an odd one, Ron. I too wish they'd just remove the folks who are not active - and haven't posted for an allocated period of time. Although, I do notice comments from people who have an account, but have NEVER posted. Go figure. The most subscribed to list of Rainers also has a number of people who are not active.

Hi Shirley errr I mean Ron --- I have more followers than people I follow and over the years I have eliminated some of those I have followed because I can. Not sure of the "point penalty" for dropping someone but I add and drop as I feel the "need".

I was under the understanding that if you have points for a year you cannot get them undone..so if you started following the person for over a year ago should you be able to delete.

I have people that have never commented on my blog but follow me..I think that is kinda creepy that is just my opinion!

I have a lot of followers that are MIA. I had recently done a perge before followers and following got involved with points. I only deleted people who had been gone for 4 years or more.
