Close Encounters of Any Kind

      Being a Vietnam Vet, I have seen some weird $hit. By this, I mean are there extra-terrestrials of any kind among us? I wonder. There are stories of Foo Fighters that many WW-II Vets on both sides of the war talk about. Lights that would speed by planes. They would shoot at them and no fire was returned. Both sides thought they were secret fighter planes developed by both sides. And here you thought that they were a rock band. Nope! Well, okay they are and they were not the original Foo Fighters.
     One night at approximately 0330, while on perimeter guard, I saw something unusual at 2 o’clock. I motioned to my point man. What is this? An enemy weapon? Very unusual and high tech considering the era. What I saw was a cylindrical shaped object sitting motionless barely visible in the tree-line. WTF? Was I delusional or was it real?
     The next thing I knew, incoming. The sky was ablaze with flares, incoming mortar and tracers. I have heard through the ranks, that just before a major fight, there were those who were watching. Mainly folk-lore mind you. But really? Folk lore? I wonder.
     What turned out to be the worst fire-fight of my life was in full force. I kept hearing a voice. “You are okay and will come out of this alive.”  Yeah! Right! Tell that to the bullets whizzing by my ears. The voice continued, never stopped and was deafening over the sound of gunfire.
     The next morning all was calm. I had to see what was in the tree-line. What I saw, blew my mind. There were 4 semi-round impressions in the soil. Was someone watching? Are there extra-terrestrials that are watching over us? Are these our guardian angels? I really do not know. What I do know is that are are things that happen in this universe that we cannot explain. Many times I have been snatched from the very claws of death only to wonder, why? Maybe, it was not my time. Maybe there were other plans.
     This encounter left me with more questions than answers. Maybe the encounters were of another or any kind. Being a mere mortal, on an orb spinning in the vast expanses of the cosmos it is too much for the human mind to comprehend. Needless to say, this was an encounter that I will always remember. It was one of many encounters I have had with the unknowns. Are there unknowns watching us? I have talked to many who think there are. Only time will tell.
