RENT vs OWN on-line computer Analysis

A unique and one-of-a-kind analysis we use on our website is our Rent Vs Own analysis that is now INTERNET INTERACTIVE.  What I mean by that is we have enhanced our old Rent vs Own Analysis into a live interactive excel spreadsheet that can give you a comparison of owning versis renting for a 10 year period in a matter of seconds.

A visitor can come to our Home Page, click on the Rent vs Own button and see an interactive Excel Spreadsheet where you can enter the current amount of rent you are paying, OR the amount you could pay for a mortgage payment...tab and enter a different interest rate if you have been provided one by a bank and hit the tab key again.  You now have a complete analysis comparing Renting versis Owning, including how much home you can purchase, your mortgage amount and how much savings before and after taxes for the next 10 years in our area.  You'd be surprised how much you save.

To produce this interactive spreadsheet, we bought a little wrap-around program for MS Excel called Spreadsheet Convertor.  If anyone would like to know more about it, just visit our webpage below, check it out and/or click on the Spreadsheet Convertor icon and it will take you to their website.  GREAT TOOL !!

Thank you for your article. This was very helpful and very well put together. We have done mailers on rent vs own but never thought of doing it like this. Thanks, Keith

I've been wanting to do a rent vs buy seminar, I'll have to check out your site and also recommend it at a reference.

Thanks Keith.  What I try to do on "mailers" is to get them to come to the website to use the spreadsheet...then hopefully they'll stay and contact me after seeing the website.

Peter...when I first put this spreadsheet together I had my CPA give it a "seal of approval" so it would stand the test of accurate info.

David, Thanks so much for information about this valuable tool. I am working on a calculator to help mortgage professionals determine if they can afford a virtual assistant, and this makes it so much easier!!

Thanks Jackie.  It's the neatest program I've seen yet.  Everytime I send a postcard to apartment complexes and refer them to the Rent vs Own webpage to check and see just how much they can afford and save, I get a Bunch of hits.
