It has come to our attention, that a fellow Realtor of Keller Williams Realty Southwest in Sugar Land, Texas has been in the hospital for the last week of March 2008 and is courageously battling Cancer. Even with the assistance of various agencies that have been able to write off many of the bills, they are still in excess of $100,000.

John has no medical insurance, as many of us don't. We want him to concentrate on channeling his energy into getting better. Our immediate goal is to raise $25,000

How you can Help?

We're asking each of you to make a small donation of $25.00 as a one time gift, or whatever you can afford. Your $25.00 would really help John pay some of those bills. Monthly pledges are welcome.

Please send all donations to:

Keller Williams Realty Southwest        John Morris Fund

C/O John Morris Fund

1650 Hwy. 6, Suite 350

Sugar Land, Texas 77478

Please help us help John, it's a terrible situation to be in and we know that the Keller Williams family and the entire Realtor family will support him and in this life experience.

Thank you in Advance!

I will pass this along to my office as we at Prudential Gary Greene are very involved in charity work in Houston and on a National level. I am sure that I can help this brave man and appreciate the opportunity to do so.

I will also pass this along to our Sugar Land office as they are a terrific group of Realtors and are always ready to help out. Great job getting the word out.

Here is a really easy and fun way to help out. There is a weekly drawing on Fridays in the office (Keller Williams Southwest). Usually it is $1 a business card entry. They are also taking direct donations, Just make sure when you drop it off that note that as for John Morris fund.

I have only known John for 5 years and have grown to love and respect him as my friend. He was the one that took the time to help me when I first started. I know that John had been in the real estate business for over 20 years and knows many of the agents around the area.

If anyone knows of anything or suggestions you think we may not have thought of for helping raise money or agencies they can contact, please leave a response for the committee to follow up.

Hi Shayne, Yes of course I will be more than happy to help.  Please do another post and put in the Texas Real Estate group.  Title something like, Texans helping Texans in need, and I will feature it.  Also talk to Jason at Family Ties and I'm sure he will help on his group as well.  Liz

I am so happy to a part of the Keller Williams Southwest Family.  We really do care for one another in our time of need.  John Morris has been great agent to work with and be friends with.  He will help you however he can.  Now is the time we can help him in his time of need.  Atlanta CAR 9 will never be forgotten!  Take care.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for thier support towards this effort. Everyone has given and done so much and we still have more work to reach our goal. For those that donated financially thank you so much for kindly giving from your hearts.

For those who cant contribute financially there are many other ways to help by volunteering at one of our upcomming events, raising awareness in the community about our efforts, and supporting John during a difficult time.

Lets remember John has incurred some extrodinary medical bills from his diagnosis and hospital stay. OUR EFFORTS TO RAISE FUNDS FOR JOHN ARE GOING TOWARDS HIS CONTINUING TREATMENT WHICH HE NEEDS TO GET BETTER, once that is accomplished we can work on the previous expenses.

We're looking to get a Golf Tournament in honor of the John Morris fund. Does anyone have any suggestion? I've narrow the golf course list down to three course with our cost at around $55 per player including food. Any advice would be helpful...

I'm thinking about calling the tournament "Beat the Texan, NOT!"

Cancer is a familiar term to most. We have either known someone with the disease or have encountered it personally.  For those of us on the outside watching someone we love battle it can be heart wrenching. As an observer there is nothing I can do to help him fight it.  My dear friend John Morris is fighting Stage IV liver cancer.  But I want everyone to know that my friend, John Morris, is a fighter, he is a survivor and he will prevail.  John keeps a positive outlook, John continues to seek hope and John is NOT giving up!  I am blessed to know John and to be a part of his fighting process. John is a witness to the possibility of hope when everything seems hopeless. John can teach us all a lesson in perseverance.

John, I love you and am standing by you until you win this battle!

WOW! I am very impress with Keller Williams with their program Keller Williams Cares...

They really stepped up to the plate with a donation of $30,000. Our MC has collected over $10,000 with the help of fellow Realtor from Active Rain as well as the local Realtors within our community!

I would like to say a BIG! "THANK YOU! to all of ya'll that were kind enough to donate...

My only hope is that John, will get well soon and start again enjoying life and do what he does best - help those in need of a real Realtor!
