Children look forward to Easter for the candy and the hidden surprises. Brightly colored eggs, scattered by the Easter Bunny and sometimes filled with goodies, are their target. While many parents hide eggs in their backyard, it can be fun to take the kids to a neighborhood egg hunt too, where the fun is magnified with all the other kids and the extra activities. For Ridgewood parents, here are a few local Easter Egg Hunts planned for the area in 2015:
1.Easter in the Park
When: Saturday April 4, 2015
Time: 11:00am-2:00pm
Where: Memorial Park at Van Neste Square, East Ridgewood Ave

Bring the kids to meet the Easter Bunny. If you want your child to have breakfast with the Easter Bunny call to reserve a spot. Breakfast is from 9am-11am. Take pictures with the Easter Bunny. Activities throughout the park, including the Egg Extravaganza for kids 2-7, sponsored by Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream.
2. Spring Egg Hunt
When: Saturday March 28, 2015
Time: 9am Sharp!
Where: WycKoff Family YMCA, 691 Wyckoff Avenue
Cost: Free, $20 per family for Bunny House
Hunt for eggs and then stay and make a candy bunny house of white chocolate. Pre-registration is required.

3. SpEGGtacular Hunt: Bergen County Zoo for kids 1-10 years old
When: Saturday March 28, 2015
Time: 10:00am-1:00pm
Where: Bergen County Zoo
Cost: Zoo members, free; non-members: $5.00 per family
For children 1-10, the Easter egg hunt starts at 10am. Bring your own basket. After the hunt is finished, meet your favorite characters from spring from 11:00am-1:00pm. Kids can watch animals participate in their own egg hunt, enjoy storytelling, crafts, and refreshments.

4. Easter Egg Hunt

Where: Crestwood Lake, Allendale
Search for eggs at Crestwood Lake. For kids ages 12 and under. There are special prizes for those who find the plastic eggs. Also, enjoy music and a special appearance by Peter Cottontail. Moms have their own special egg hunt! Come enjoy the fun.

5. When: Saturday April 4, 2015
Time: 10am-NOON
Where: Cornerstone Church, corner of Broad and Madison Streets in Carlstadt
Cost: Free
Come to Cornerstone Church for a traditional Easter Egg Hunt, and stay for the remaining festivities. Included in the day's celebration are music, snacks, crafts, stories and games. It is for children aged 4-12.
