If You Wait for Perfect Conditions You'll Never Get Anything Done

When my alarm went off and the rain was still coming down I thought “Is it ever going to warm up?, it sure would be really nice to take a run or ride my bike when it’s not wet out!!”  I then thought of this very picture below that I saw on Pinterest:

I know rainy days are not necessarily the best days for Real Estate.  Generally speaking, buyers don’t want to get wet, sellers don’t want the outdoors brought into their clean homes, and what are families going to do during Spring Break?  It’s pouring rain, and you’re telling them they need to get out so you can show the house.

The fact is, conditions are rarely “ideal”.  Just as there’s always a reason to not go for a run, there are all sorts of conditions that could make you want to just lay in bed and do nothing today.

My experience is that these are often the days that separate the high achievers from the rest.  Don’t let the weather, low inventory, listing rejection, or anything else get you down today.  Make the most of every moment.  If clients don’t want to get out and about consider taking the time to write some thank you notes to past clients.

If you’re wondering…. yes, the run was awesome.  It was wet, cold, and at times miserable.  It was also pretty cool knowing that I was the only one out there pushing myself a little harder than anyone else.

Thank you for sharing Max. Perfect circumstances rarely if ever happen so we might as well deal with what we are given and move forward anyway!

I heard an old saying go off in my head when I read this post, "The perfect is the enemy of the good."  Sometimes ideal needs to be a target you are willing to bypass to get stuff done.

It reminds me of what Zig Zigler use to say: If you are waiting for all the lights to be "green" before you leave home, your are never leaving!!!
