Imagine buying a grand Yountville estate and paying $5.9 million for it, closing escrow on February 17th only to see it vanish. This is exactly what happen to 45 Vineyard View, one of the Napa Valley’s premier properties. The home was totally destroyed by fire on February 28th.
Not only is it located just a mile from downtown Yountville, but sat on a private, gated 20 plus acre parcel with phenomenal vineyard views. There was a 5,000 square feet main house, guest house, pool house and of course a wine cellar for over 1,000 bottles.
Fortunately the property was vacate at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. One can see photos of the fire at the Napa Valley Register article on it.
All I can say, what a unfortunate lose of such a special property. I have several friends who live on the street with about 10 homes and I am certain there was quite a bit of anxiety during the nearly four hours it took to totally contain this blaze. I am thankful that none of them were caught up in this fire. It is a very wooded area which could have been disastrous for all who live of this street.
