I love the 'Plant a tree' idea and Riverside is one of the shadiest cities in the area.

I am sure the giving away trees is catching on and  $25 each for up to 5 more trees is a great bargain. I bought a small tree the other day and it was $30.

I hope other cities around the country see this and adopt the idea.

Hi Bob Crane

I think it is a terrific idea too and hoping outhers cities around here will do it also. Of course, I hope it becomes a nation wide program.

Kristin, this is a fabulous idea. Shade trees enhance the quality of life in inland towns that get hot in summer. Downtown Davis is a great example of shade trees improving life. Good for Riverside!

Hi Lottie Kendall

I just wish other cities in the Inland Empire in CA would follow through with the same type of programs. All the cities had their redevopment money for homeowners to apply for (rebate) to do repairs to their home but a couple of years ago, the state made all the cities give them the redevopment money so it is especially a great program with a large lack of funds now.
