Things to do in and around Houston for Spring Break 2015!

Well it’s that time of the year once again. We are getting settled in to the time change finally! Next week starts up Spring Break for the kiddos in and around Houston City Limits. There are so many fun things for them to do over this break and if you can take a few days off of work or if you already have time allotted to some fun times, NOW is a great time to do it. Family time at its finest without having to leave the City!

The trend this year and from years past is the “Stay Cation.”  Instead of packing up the car with suitcases and or getting on an airplane, spend your time the wisest and stay put! There are so many things to do in and around Houston. Spend your day out of the house then get to come home and sleep in your own beds!

  1. Schlitterbaun Galveston. What is cooler than going to a waterpark in the middle of the cool and dreary weather outside? Well it is awesome because Schlitterbaun Galveston has opened their indoor waterpark during the Spring Break week. Spend a day sliding down slides or relaxing while the kids have a ball! Go to http://www.schlitterbahn.com/galveston for more info.
  2.  Space Center Houston. Enjoy a day learning and exploring all about space at the Johnson Space Center. There are many new exhibits and it is fun for the whole family. http://spacecenter.org/visitor-information/

  3. The Children’s Museum of Houston.  This is a great spot for the younger kiddos. There is indoor fun and outdoor fun as well.  Another great place for the learning to continue but in such a fun way! http://www.cmhouston.org/

  4. Houston Zoo. If the weather cooperates with us here in Houston, the Houston Zoo is a great place to spend a day. Enjoy a picnic lunch at Herman Park or relive childhood memories with a fun train ride. There is a lot to do and see at the Houston Zoo. http://www.houstonzoo.org/

  5. Bayou Wildlife Park in Alvin, TX. If you are interested in taking the whole family somewhere that is out of the norm, consider Bayou Wildlife in Alvin, TX. This place is such a great place to explore wildlife in their habitat. THIS ONE IS MY FAVORITE!!

  6. Kemah Boardwalk. Enjoy a fun filled day of carnival type rides, eating, shopping boardwalk games and much more! Kemah Boardwalk has fun for the entire family. It will not disappoint.

  7. Galveston Pleasure Pier. The pier is packed with restaurants, rides, shops, games, live music and entertainment. Rides include a 36-foot diameter, double-decker carousel and a 100-foot tall Ferris Wheel, and for the more adventurous, a steel roller coaster with a 100-foot vertical climb, 200-foot tall swing recognized as the highest ride in Texas and classic bumper cars for adults and children.  http://www.pleasurepier.com/

These are just a few ideas of what wonderful adventures and fun days you can enjoy with your kiddos or family and friends this Spring Break!

As always if you are interested in buying or selling real estate give me a call today! If you are looking to relocate to the area, Pleasure Pier, Galveston Island and so much more are even more reasons to come to the Southeast side!
