Short Sales...Low home values.

I see all sorts of comments and blogs about how to get people into a home.

Not everyone should own a home.

Do we really need to give people money so they can buy.

I did a check in my area and I have found the majority of foreclosures are in the very LOW price range.

I have talked to some people who got into a home because they were given $8000.

NO SKIN in the game.  We should be crawling out of the hole we were put in, but we keep putting people into home that can't hardly afford RENT let alone all the costs of owning a home.

I believe that we are setting ourselves up for another disaster.  I f we have to give the down payment and closing costs...how do we think they will be able to keep up the payments.

Sadly I see a fall coming again and it could be soon.

AMEN to that William. I cannot tell you how many applications I look at in a day and think lets focus on what you have on your plate now and how to handle that before jumping in to buy a home.

You know William, I think you've got something here. And for some reason the Californians have been telling me it's another bubble and are very weary about buying ;o)

Hi William -- for many reasons, there are people who should not be homeowners -- sometimes it's financial, sometimes it's lifestyle, somtimes it's desire, sometimes we just don't know.   Good point.   Afterall, we can still sell investors properties...

You hit the nail on the head.  This should have been featured, but what yo have to say makes sense so it won't be.

Hi William, I think it's the American mindset that somehow renting is bad and owning a home is good.  In other countries renting is an perfectly acceptable way of living until such time one can afford to buy and maintain a home.
