All of us need to learn to be careful and how to defend ourselves in case we are attacked.
All Realtors are painfully aware of what happened to poor Beverly Carter this past fall when she was murdered. There was recently another incident in 2015 where a potential home buyer ( husband) was shot while viewing a home with a Realtor in Florida. His wife was present. All of us in the Real Estate and related business fields have to be extra cautious, learn to identify signs of potential harm and be able to defend ourselves if required. Simple things like a pen can be an effective weapon in a bad situation while trying to defend ourselves.
I can frankly say I have been very fortunate to have avoided major potential attacks on numerous occasions during my lifetime. I grew up in a bad neighborhood in a major midwest city and avoiding trouble was a required as a matter of survival. City kids develop basic instincts. The passing of time has a way to interfere with those instincts and suppress them. I am seriously thinking of taking the time to attend this class as I have lived a long time in the burbs.
