Passion for Real Estate: Success in All Sizes

I read an interesting QUESTION this morning, and another interesting blog, and decided to take a few quick moments out of my computer work to write a short blog posting.

The QUESTION was,  "If you won the lottery, would you continue your job in Real Estate?"

My answer was,  "I'm pretty certain I would always work.  Keeps me alive.  :) "

Next I came across Content is King - Right - So What do I Write  by Chris Webb, social media guy here in Tucson, helping bloggers with the age-old question, What do I Blog About?  In it, Chris suggests we blog about what we know!

And lastly, yesterday afternoon I received a call from a Phoenix-based Loan Professional from American Pacific Mortgage. He questioned me, among other things, about my work, passion, what drives me, what's important to me...in relation to possibly partnering up with referrals and teamwork.  I'm in a transaction with him currently and his communication and follow-through levels are phenomenal.

Networking with cats

So...what do these three items have in common, and MORE IMPORTANTLY (smiling here) what do they have to do with the accompanying photo???

Well, it's 11 a.m., I'm still in my pajamas, still at my computer since my first cup of coffee -- sitting here so long the cats got lonely.

Do I have passion for my job?  You bet!

Would I keep working if my income levels raised dramatically due to "luck"?  Like I said, it keeps me alive.  :)  (Alive is good)

What do I blog about - all the things that excite me about the Tucson area, things that are important to me personally, and the local market - in no particular order and with no pressing importance.

Is my business successful?  42% of my business last year was repeat clients.  21% came from online blogging and Google hits - no paid leads.  25% came from referrals.  The year before, 35% were repeat clients, 23% internet, and 23% referrals.  We all view success in different ways, but after ten years, I'm still in Real Estate, still loving it, and have passion for my job that drives me to drink coffee and work in my pajamas until after 11 a.m. at times.  ...Spells Success to me!

Have a passionate spring...

I am like you. I would probably not give up working. I might scale back but we are in a unique business which is not for everyone. I think those who are in it for the long run are hooked.

I would still do this job if I won the lottery for sure.  And by the way, I love the pic of your cats.  Very cute.

I would absolutely still be a broker if I won the lottery. I'd sink a whole bunch of money into marketing and advertising for my brokerage and continue to grow. Of course I would also take a lot more days off than I do now since the pressure of keeping sales in the pipeline wouldn't be nearly as great.

I would take a few months off and travel to all those places I've read about here in the Rain.  I would come back open my own agency and as they say the rest would be history

Thanks for the mention Cara Marcelle Mancuso, passion is needed in any career path one takes. In my industry of online marketing our algorithms, metrics and software packages change almost daily. If you are not passionate about continual updating and education you will not be in the industry very long. Real estate is similar.
