Kale and clover lettuce cupsWe had the chance to stop in at Kale and Clover for lunch on its official opening day and we are so glad we did. Kale and Clover is a based on healthy, satisfying and tasty eating and lives up to that promise.

Kale and Clover is a fast casual restaurant, so when you enter, you walk up to the counter and place your order. Your food will then be brought to you. The space itself is of clean design, high ceilings, lots of white and contemporary tables and chairs.

The menu is diverse and pulls from many different geographic regions. The breakfast menu has many options ranging from quinoa porridge to omelets to pancakes. The lunch and dinner menu offer a selection of appetizers, salads, 'hand helds,' (which include things like sandwiches and tacos,) and then plates and bowls, which are entree size. You also have the option to add-on things like chicken, tofu, salmon, beef and shrimp. They also have an extensive list of cold-pressed juices and smoothies, as well as healthy snacks.

For entrees, we had the Vegetable Chopped Salad with an add-on of Seared Salmon and the Grilled Chicken Paillard. Both were excellent. The salad came with lots of ingredients like cucumber, jicama, apple, edamame, tomato and more. Lots of satisfying crunch and tastes. The salmon was a generous portion and was a great compliment to the salad.

The Chicken Paillard was a pounded grilled chicken breast that was topped with arugula, mozzarella and finished off with lemon. It was a light dish, but also filling.

To drink, we tried the Spa Water of the Day, which happened to be cucumber infused water.

Overall, we had a great meal and can see this as a regular stop for dining moving forward. Some of the items we want to try next time are the Faux Pho, which is a vegan version of traditional pho, as well as the Penne with Turkey Sausage.

Kale and clover is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Many, if not most of the items are vegetarian, gluten-free, vegan or some combination of those.
