Well at least there goes President Bush from the Western White House from the Waco area Crawford Neighborhood.

Announced today, according to the The Dallas Morning News, Laura Bush stated that she and President Bush will be moving to Dallas after they leave the White House.

I am sure there are mixed feelings about this locally, some probably happy to see them go while others saddened to see this part of history fade. I wonder what will become of the ranch...I am sure someone already knows. And what will become of Crawford? Well less President Bush paraphernalia will be available for sure!

As the world changes, Waco and its surrounding area is no different. On we go!

Presidential Merchandise

The photo is taken outside one of the popular shops a couple of years ago that had many Presidential type gifts. Notice the CUTE Beanie Baby Presidential Over-sized Bear!

Oh well way it goes.  I am sure most Texans still like their president.

Wendy, I had heard he was going to Dallas; I guess want to keep a little distance beween him and Papa Bush here in Houston.  I'm kind of surprised he is not going to be out in the country somewhere though.  Although there is a lot of country around Dallas.

Wendy, This is no surprise to me. My broker and yours, Towne Adams, told me last year that he had met the agent in Dallas who was already searching for a home there for the Bushes. Is there anybody Towne doesn't know?

John, Francis, Marchel, Ann--Thanks for the comments. I guess it really isn't too surprising. Dallas is not too far from here really, but it's big city vs. a much smaller place here. I prefer here :) Minimal traffic, friendly people, everything I need, I'll take it!

The article I read from the Dallas MOrning News (www.dallasnews.com) was that they will be splitting their time in Dallas and the ranch, so they're keeping the ranch, but not "living" there.  They also won't acknowledge if they'll be in "Dallas" or one of the surrounding suburbs.  But this has been known in the Dallas area for months.

IT wouldn't surprise me if they kept the ranch to visit or gave it to one of the kids. I wouldn't want the listing for the simple reason that a lot of people would want to see it that really aren't going to buy it.

Hi Cheri'--Thanks for dropping by. You aren't kidding about being a listing agent on something like that. I would think you would become more of a tour guide than anything, but who knows. Maybe they are keeping it, like others have said here. Jenna's wedding is right around the corner, should have all sorts in our area then!
