Some people asked us to update the community upon our return.  I am having trouble getting all of the pix to copy etc for one post so am doing it in two or three posts (going to Florida and staying on hutchinson Island, the cruise, the ports of call and the return trip.

We drove to the Port St Lucie/Stuart area of Florida to visit with friends Blanche and Dan Backich on Hutchinson Island at the Sea Islands Dunes Condominium they leased for the season.  Leaving on Easter Sunday we made our out I80 to head south on I81 and stopped in Lexington, VA to have dinner at the Southern Inn and stay over night.  The next morning we continued south on I81 to I77 to I26 to I95 and stopped in St Augustine, FL for dinner at Columbia Spanish Restaurant (a family owned chain of excellent restaurants stared in 1905 in Ybor City in Florida).  We have had dinner at one of their other locations in Sarasota a year or so ago. They are reviewed in the restaurant section of our neighborhood websites. The next day we met up with Dan and Blanche.  Joyce and Blanche had a chance to visit and shop while Dan and I had the chance to golf for three days at the course owned by the condo association across the road from their unit.

The condo had great views of the beach and the Atlantic  from the balconies on one side and the golf course on the other.

The days golfing were a welcome relief from the drive and an advance on the season in the Poconos by about a month or so at the least.

The visit also gave the four of us a chance to meet up with our friend Alice McHugh who moved to the area from Lake Harmony.  A great dinner at Bare Bones on the water gave us a chance to catch up with her and tell her about the Poconos.

Joyce - It looks like you had a good time. The pictures are great. Florida is a great place to be right now, the weather is good.
