West Ashley is one of the oldest and most picturesque areas of Charleston. Considered to be the birthplace of Charleston, it is one of the most desirable residential districts and features an array of home styles. The area is steeped in history from the Revolutionary War and Civil War, with 3 well preserved plantation homes – Drayton Hall, Middleton Place, and Magnolia Plantation. The Citadel Mall which is one of the area’s largest, resides here, as well as, Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital, one of the area’s newest medical facilities. A replica of the original settlement of 1670, called Charles Towne Landing includes a reproduction of a 17th century trading ship.

Schieveling Plantation is a small neighborhood featuring fashionable homes with Lowcountry style, lots of live oak trees, green spaces and parks, and a clubhouse that emphasizes a classic Southern ambience.  The community also features a children’s playground and a junior Olympic pool.

Most of the homes here have a traditional design with Hardiplank siding, wraparound front porches, screened in back porches, and tin roofs. The 3-4-5 bedroom homes were built between 2001 and 2007 and many have panoramic views of the Ashley River and marshes. Located along the Ashley River, Shieveling Plantation is only a short drive from Middleton Place Plantation, Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, and downtown Charleston, making work or play a stress - free commute.  The neighborhood is also conveniently close to North Charleston, shopping centers such as the Citadel Mall, the Shadowmoss Plantation’s championship golf course, and Charles Towne Landing.

If you are looking for a home with Lowcountry charm and the convenience of modern living, let us show the beautiful homes of Schieveling Plantation.
