What a Difference a Year of Practice Makes
Tonight was my son, Tyler’s, high school talent show. Last March, after 18 months of playing drums, he had the courage to get on stage in front of nearly-full high school auditorium and play his stuff. During his performance, he dropped a stick, picked it up and kept on going.
With the confidence of having completed that first performance and a year of practice behind him, he had no fear getting on stage tonight and doing it again. This time, he blew us all away with his more complex beats and rhythms. We can hear from the students in the crowd that he has many fans. He was riding probably the biggest highs of his life tonight.
The first video was of last year’s performance. The second is of this year’s. Please watch some of both; the progress is astounding.
Are we working as hard as Tyler to produce this much growth in ourselves?
