If you were Giving an Introductory Talk about AR..What would you say ?

I value the relationships more than anything else.  This platform gives you access to many great minds in the real estate world, and along the way leads to referrals and new business opportunities.

My manager has asked me to do exactly that - discuss Active Rain in a tutorial for other agents in the office.  

I'd start with suggesting that they sign up and just read for a while.  Most agents are turned off by having to write something so it's important to explain the benefits they'll get just from browsing the site daily.

Some people read articles on real estate news sites but they are sometimes written by non-insiders/agents and that's fine but here you get info, how-to's, ideas and inspiration directly from those who work real estate for a living.  If you decide to actively participate and not just read, you can form some wonderful friendships, too.

I would say that good things take time. AR is so many things but the benefit comes from consistent participation.

I would encourage folks to join - 1. meet new people. 2. develop relationships, 3. education 4. business -- and overall priceless.

The relationships and the knowledge gained here are probably the most important things for me here in the Rain.

I would start with what brought me here in the first place -- the knowledge/experience of other agents.  And then I would evolve to the relationships and community.  Best wishes with your talk!

In high school, I ran Cross Country and Track. I was a good distance runner who got beat at the finish line: other runners out sprinted me. I had a classmate who was the best female spinter in the Nashville High Schools. She was drawing the interest of legendary Tigerbelle Coach Ed Temple. I decided that if anyone could help me improve ny sprinting, it was Coach Temple. I asked. He coached me, and I began taking away positions from runners ahead of me. I went to learn from the most knowledgeable track coach in Nashville. I went from running 5 minute miles to running sub 4:30 minute miles.

I was an exceptional mortgage loan officer and a knowledgeable REALTOR®, but I want to become an exceptional REALTOR®, so when I was referred to ActiveRain®, I came with a bucket to dip into this well of knowledge

I have found what I was looking for, and much more I gladly stand in the Sensible Showers of Knowledge and Experience each day, "Just a singing in the Rain." That is why I am a Rainmaker®. Let it rain!

I like the word you used within your post, Sally K. & David L. Hanson ... "exchange".  I think to a large extent that sums-up the greatest benefit for me of AR.  Whether it's an exchange of information, opinion, business, friendship ... AR pretty much has it all and I gain from all the "exchanging" ....

I mean look,  I met YOU that way, right?  A GREAT exchange ...
