What news was noteworthy on March 29?
1638 – Swedish colonists establish the first European settlement in Delaware, naming it New Sweden.
1882 – The Knights of Columbus are established. The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization. Founded by Father Michael J. McGivney in New Haven, Connecticut, the mutual benefit society was named in honor of the famous navigator, Christopher Columbus.
1886 – Dr. John Pemberton brews the first batch of Coca-Cola in a backyard in Atlanta, Georgia.
