Crafty & Yummy Home: Cake Pops!

By
Real Estate Agent with Barcode Properties BRE # 01828994

If you still didn't know that, I love crafts, arts and yummy home made food.

Today we are going to make Cake Pops!

They are fun/easy/cheap to do and taste delicious!
I promise, you and yours will love them:)

Are you ready for these most cakes covered in yummy chocolate and sprinkles?

 cake pops

Here is what you'll need:

any boxed cake. I use any flavor. Choose your favorite!

any frosting you like;

lollipop sticks;

baking chocolate (to melt);

decorations( anything you like: sprinkles, shredded coconut, nuts, etc.)

Here is my instructions (I'll post below a video I liked, there tons of online tutorials): cake pops

1.     First of all following the instructions on the box, bake that cake!

2.     Wait till it cools to the room temperature. Crumble it! Do it, it is the fun part. Dump in a large bowl.

3.     Add some frosting until cake is moist and can hold a ball shape (not to much!). I used a mixer.

 4.     Use an ice cream scoop to scoop out a ball of cake mixture.

5.     Roll the mixture into a tight ball and place on a plate.

6.     Repeat until all the cake mixture has been rolled into balls.

7.     Melt 2-4 ounces of a chocolate.

8.     Dip the tip of the cake pop sticks into the chocolate and insert into the cake balls.

9.     Place in the freezer for about 10-20 minutes.

10.             10. Melt the remaining chocolate in a large tall cup.

11* Remove cake balls from freezer. Dip each of them carefully into the chocolate until covered.

12* Let the excess chocolate drip off. Swirl and tap gently if needed.

13* Add the sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet. It will harden quickly.

14* Stick the decorated cake pop into a Styrofoam block.

chocolate coverd oreo cookies

p.s. If you there are any left overs of melted chocolate, you can dip Oreo cookies( yumm!), pretzels, or strawberries!

 Enjoy!

Brian England try:) They are very easy to do. I made them today again: vanilla cake with red frosting( made cake pops pink) dipped in black chocolate( bought it in Costco).  I did not even used sticks......they are disappearing from the plate quickly....magic:)

Michael Jacobs I love the smell of backed goodies in my house. I bake all the time for kids or give to someone as a little yummy gift. These home made pops wrapped and decorated with little bows make an excellent gift. I always use organic eggs, milk and olive oil/or good butter, so even I use boxed cake, they always taste good and moist.

You are quite a baker Inna, What I like about cake pops is that the serving is small and for an indulgence it won't totally blow the diet. That are so pretty too.

Sounds incredibly yummy!  I have seen them and wondered how it was that a ball of cake would stay on a stick.   Had no idea that you crumbled them up and mixed with frosting but it sure makes sense!

Russ Ravary ~ Metro Detroit Realtor call (248) 310-6239 , mine are very soft inside and covered with a thin layer of chocolate. I add sprinkles only for kids. My favorite decoration is shredded coconut. I would send you some if you were closer a bit!
