I have a policy in place that works quite well for many reasons which I will share. First the policy of which I hint at in the title of the posting. In my neighborhood, if you have a Real Estate need, when you come to me, you get the neighbor discount just for being my neighbor. Lucky you and lucky me too
IT WORKS IF WE DO
FIRST YOU: You got someone you can trust, always go to and won't fully charge up the fees and that knows the area and of course the persons. It binds us together to make sure that all goes well. This is as personal as it gets.
THEN ME: It is convenient for me to meet instantly with anyone, express opinions about the area and answer questions from all callers. I service your product daily as it is now on my radar constantly
YOU GET THE NEIGHBOR DISCOUNT
All my neighbors know that I will charge less and get the job done just by virtue of being neighbors with me. I had a neighbor approach me for some property management input and guidance. He sees me all the time as I see him and a Real Estate matter popped up. We worked it and he is at peace. Easy to do!
ON MY NEW NEIGHBORS OR...?
I often let people know when I meet them that they may qualify for my neighbor discount and to keep me in mind if and when anything comes up. Of course I include a free consultation statement as well.

People also see how well my wife and I keep our place up. This says a lot about who we are and what we believe in. A well manicured home is just like a person dressed to the nines. I sent out texts the other day to my neighbors stating that they were not to buy any lemons until further notice! WHY? I got a fruitful lemon tree that just gives out all year long both big and small lemons of the best kind. Right now, they are Forty cents a piece at the market. At Richie's, they are free. All you can eat
THE SPIRIT BEHIND IT
I don't like looking at my neighbors using the $$$ opportunity eyes. In other words, when two or more people end up seeing and talking with one another frequently and in some cases over the years, I want to treat that special...thus the neighbor discount policy. No pouncing or advantage...just convenience
SOME VALUE THE TRUST MORE THAT THE MONEY
It is interesting to note that when a neighbor is getting the feeling that you really care and want to make sure that their needs are met, they often just want to pay your fee. That is their good neighbor policy and while they appreciate the discount, they may just feel that the trust is worth any amount of fees
HOW ARE YOU?
Living next to someone is pretty personal even if it is in the same vicinity too. You pass each other up driving, walking, cycling or hiking weekly and most of the time daily too. You see each other at the same shops, church, and restaurants as well movie theaters. It makes it special

My son, the attorney does the same thing in his field as well. If you are his neighbor whether at work or at home, you get the special treatment. He does what I do as well which is to give free consultations. You see some people have their own timing and for different reasons. They want to talk first, then act when ready after lining up their ducks...
Consultations enable people to calculate what they want to do and when in their own timing. But they rest easy knowing that the answer is right there too. Being a good neighbor has its own rewards. You don't need a reason to be one and being one is very fulfilling for all concerned.
Having a professional for a neighbor...well that is handy-dandy easy-peasy good for everyone if we allow it and use it correctly to all our benefits....yes?
