What does "Good Friday" mean to you?

As we get further and further into the future and the years continue to go by, holidays and traditions can change.

 

Holidays and traditions can either become more popular or less popular with new generations of people growing up.

 

So that being said ... do the new generations of family, friends and people growing into new ages really know what "Good Friday means?

Has the true meaning of "Good Friday" been explained to them?

Or do they think it's just what it sounds like ... Good Friday.

 

I have know for 7+ years now that the Activerain is a Real Estate network, not religious, political, etc ...

 

But I would like to know what "Good Friday" means to you and if you have taught your children the true meaning, so they can teach their children and so on ;o)

 

Good Friday is a very important day for me and has never been taken lightly, now is your chance to share with us your true meaning.

To me Good Friday commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary.

Good Friday is a day to celebrate what Jesus did for us. It's a celebration for Christians who put their faith in the salvation that Jesus came to give freely to those who believe in Him.

For me growing up it was a very solemn day.  The "good" was that Jesus was fulfilling the promise of dying and then rising on Easter Sunday.

It's an important day to Christians and I know not everyone is a Christian.  But for me personally and of course I taught me children it symbolizes the day Christ died in place of me for my sins.
