Animal Humor: How many dogs does it take to screw in a lightbulb???

pngHere is the next installment on my series of animal (pet) humor. Once again, I do not know who was responsible for this list so I will just present it and add one more breed of dog to the list..the Siberian Husky. Since I have two of them, I feel it is an appropriate addition. For those who have dog breeds not mentioned here - try adding your own response. Let's have some fun!png

How many dogs does it take to screw in a lightbulb???

GOLDEN RETRIEVER: The sun is shining, the day is young, we've got our whole lives ahead of us, and you're inside worrying about a stupid burned-out lightbulb?

BORDER COLLIE: Just one. And then I'll replace any wiring that's not up to code.

DACHSHUND: You know I can't reach that stupid lamp.

ROTTWEILER: Make me!

LABRADOR: Oh, me,me!!!! Pleeeeeeze let me change the light bulb! Can I? Can I? Huh? Can I?!!!

GERMAN SHEPARD: I'll change it as soon as I've led these people from the dark, check to make sure I haven't missed any, and make just one more perimeter patrol to see that no one has tried to take advantage of the situation.

TIBETAN TERRIER:
Let the Border Collie do it. You can feed me while he's busy.

JACK RUSSEL TERRIER:
Ill just pop it in while I'm bouncing off the walls and furniture.

POODLE:
I'll just blow in the Border collie's ear and he'll do it. By the time he finishes rewiring the house, my nails will be dry.

COCKER SPANIEL:
Why change it? I can still pee on the carpet in the dark.png

DOBERMAN:
While its dark, I'm going to sleep on the couch.

BOXER: Who cares? I can still play with my squeaky toys in the dark.

CHIHUAHUA: Yo quiero Taco Bulb.

POINTER:
I see it, there it is, there it is, right here...

GREYHOUND: It isn't moving, who cares?

AUSTRALIAN SHEPARD:
First, I'll put all the light bulbs in a little circle...

OLD ENGLISH SHEEPDOG:
Light bulb? I'm sorry, but I don't see a light bulb.

HOUND DOG:
ZZZZZZZZzZzZzZZz.z..z...z...z.z.z...z

SIBERIAN HUSKY: We really don’t need more light in here – everyone is already blinded by the intense nature of my beauty. We could use some extra mirrors though.

CAT: Dogs do not change light bulbs. People change light bulbs. So, the question is : How long will it be before I can expect light? ALL OF WHICH PROVES, ONCE AGAIN, THAT WHILE DOGS HAVE MASTERS, CATS HAVE STAFF.

Ruthmarie:  I tried to read this entire post to my cat, Mollie T.  She just turned to me and slowly, with a smirk on her face, gave me the "kitty finger."  Dogs have owners, cats have staff !  Some things will never change.  Thanks for sharing.

Tony and Darcy -

Thank you for stopping by.  This one has made the rounds. I put my "inclusion" in large caps so people could differentiate it from the original.

Robert - I hope not - my dogs are trained to go outside only...SHhhhush - don't give them any ideas!  UGH!

Karen-Anne - How does a kitty give the "kitty finger?" I don't know that much about cats because oddly enough - I'm allergic to them.  I got desensitized  to a couple of cats that frequented a building where I worked.  But these were very social. They liked to hang with people all the time.  One used to drape himself on the typewriter. I think that it was there just for him - we had switched to computers! That guy had 7 toes on his front paws...We called him "mittens." He used to be able to pick up things like pens and pencils with his opposing "thumbs."

Very cute, Rosemarie.  Will have to think up something for my MUTT!  Not sure she'd want to change a light bulb, though.  haha

Nancy - the best thing to do is go with your mutt's personality.  I have two huskies now and one before this set.  Two of them, the original (Maggi) and the current dog (Jade) have that attitude.   Tundra may be too young - or she may have a different personality altogether.  Time will tell.  Maggi just dripped elegance - and so does Jade.  i have NO IDEA if this is a husky trait.

Hi Ruthmarie,  That is cute.  I have a Pomeranian that likes to run in circles, maybe she could help?

Hello Neal,

Maybe she can help the Australian Shepherd??

Hi Lissa,

I don't know who wrote this. I can't take credit.  Since I have Siberians - I added that. The rest is by an unknown author.

Hi Debbie ,

I don't know much about cats, but from what I have heard it is VERY on the money.

Hi Rosario,

It does hold true...loved the Border Collie and the Poodle....my Siberian addition was pretty good although that might be the two that I had.

Hi Patrice,

I have a husky/cattle dog mix in addition to the two white huskies.  I have quite a few pics of him. I have to say he is a mix between the breeds, but he is somewhat similar to the Aussie - he wants everyone TOGETHER...It works for him.  Huskies could care LESS about herding so he has an uphill battle.

Hi Terri,

Buddy is my Australian Cattle dog mix - he too likes to "herd" but less so because of the husky in him. It's not as strong - but I could imagine what he'd be like if he was a pure breed.

John -

I've never had a Springer Spaniel, but I hear they do have a one track mind....

Leesa -

WOW!!! Everyone with cats seems to be in complete agreement on this one...

Patty-

If you get an inspiration - come back and post it.

04/19/2008 11:36 PM by Ruthmarie Hicks (Keller Williams Realty)

Bonnie - Nice one - I don't know the breed that well, but it sound about right!

Chris - Ann - the descriptions are very accurate.  Surprising.

William - one shouldn't generalize - but many dogs do fit neatly into categories.

Cindy - the few Jack Russel's that I know really fit that description....
