Duck Real Estate - Homes For Sale In Duck NC

About mid-point in the 1960’s, my family started vacationing annually in Duck, usually during the second or third week of August. Back then, there were no paved roads, and few homes for sale in Duck NC. You could walk the beach most of the day and not see a single soul.

Each summer, anticipation ran high for my parents as our week at the beach approached; and every year, I dreaded the idea of being away from my friends, with only my two brothers for company. Looking back, now I understand what my parents treasured. Although Duck has changed dramatically since then, it has retained its charm, and is known as a family oriented vacation spot for thousands of visitors, who just like my parents, anticipate their week at the beach with great relish.

Today, many options exist for buyers interested in purchasing Duck real estate. If you’re interested in a tranquil natural setting surrounded by native trees and uncrowded beaches, then you’ll want to consider homes for sale in Sanderling. Sanderling owners and their guests enjoy many amenities, including a large outdoor community pool and outdoor tennis courts, a sound side pier and private dock. Sanderling is an ocean to sound upscale community just north of the Sanderling Resort, the only full service resort on the Outer Banks.

At the Sanderling Resort, full service means precisely that. You can have a spa day, enjoying facials, body wraps, and massages.  The Sanderling also boasts a complete hair and nail salon.

Duck also enjoys some of the Outer Bank’s finest dining establishments. Located on the sound in the Waterfront Shops, the Blue Point Restaurant is nationally recognized for its elegant, upscale cuisine. I have eaten there many times and I must say, I have never been disappointed! The food is thoughtfully prepared and incredibly fresh. Simply put, the owners outdo themselves year after year.

If you’re looking for a memorable lunch or dinner experience to celebrate your special occasion, then you must visit the Blue Point.  (Here’s a tip: be sure to call well in advance for reservations…as in, when you book your cottage week, better go ahead and book your dinner date at the Blue Point.)

The Roadside Bar and Grill has been serving up great food and memories in equal portions since 1995.  It’s easy to miss this local’s favorite, because it’s hidden from the road by tall hedges, which serve to make the outdoor patio dining experience a delight.  Eclectically decorated, this quaint little establishment is rooted in history, as it’s located in the oldest home in Duck.  The menu is eclectic as well: a little bit of this, a bit of that - whatever selection you choose, it’s all good.

It’s easy to see why so many buyers are interested in Duck real estate. There’s so much to do in Duck, with many options in every category.  Your experience is destined to become as unique as the town itself.
