Yesterday morning I wrote a blog about the Rains we were receiving and how they were helping the farmers who had just planted...and then Yesterday afternoon Mother Nature decided to dump a Lake on Eastern Nebraska as well as a large swath of N/E Kansas.
Seriously...10" of rain in some locations is about 8.5" too much and sure could be used later in the year. All a rain does that is this heavy is damage property and washes out river banks and erodes the fields.
My area for the most part avoided the deluge but just southeast of us 35 miles, the Tornadoes hit a few towns and did significant damage.
Our prayers are for those who received damage from the winds or rain or the ensuing floods that will happen. Also included in those prayers are for those who have had their jobs impacted!
Here is a small list of some of the heaviest rainfall as gathered by my meteoroligist friend, Travis Klanecky.
