WordPress Success!

By
Real Estate Sales Representative with Sage Executive Group Real Estate

Over the years I have flirted with web design software, hired real estate webmasters, joined Realtor sites, LinkedIn, Active Rain, CRM and listing groups - all in the attempt to be noticed, heard. To rise above the white noise of the internet and other marketing marvels.

Until a few years ago, when I slipped away from the mass productive sites, and started fooling with Wordpress templates, uploading my own design, copy, links and most importantly my own thinks.

Surfing, touring, learning and tutoring late into the night, and early into the morning.

The heights by great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight, but they, while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Today, many moons later, I am confident to say, I am well on the way to WordPress Success!!  Practice, may not make perfect, but it does take you further along the path!

This is great - thanks for sharing.  I need to explore Wordpress more - do you use both Wordpress and ActiveRain or one or the other?  Also, are you on the paid or premium or business account - which would you recommend?

Sharon,

I seem to be following the same path. I have my podcast on a word-press site, and I am in the process of developing another with the Genesis framework and the AgentPress Pro Child Theme. Plan to launch that one by months end. Let's see if it comes to fruition.

Good work.  I have built several WordPress sites over the years, and once you get the basics down, it is an amazing tool!

Think: A special site for buyer info, a special site for seller info, single property sites, sites for various communities, or community events, links back and forth between your primary site and all the niche sites you develop....

Hi Shuchi - I use the child theme - twenty twenty for some sites, and have now joined with a B.C technical guru who uploads my ideas and content - configures the 'hard stuff' coding etc. then I am on my way once the theme is established, the pages defined, a calendar uploaded etc. Most recently I have been focused on my partners Resort business, and the building of a marina. Although this may not sound like real estate - stretch your imagination a tad - and think of it as a 260 'unit' condo, complete with strata management, rental possibilities, common spaces, concrete and steel. Only on water... first I created my own attempt at a site Mabel Lake Marina Entrance sign ...on wordpress, then had my Guru Teresa take over and together this winter we built and populated a 62 page site www.mabellake.com featuring all aspects of the resort business. Fun, educational and definitely enlightening process. Bravo to WordPress for the development of an open technology!
