When people first hear about Big Canoe, Georgia they assume that there won’t be much to do inside a community so grounded in nature and wildlife in the North Georgia Mountains. They think that maybe it’s for people who are ready for a quiet life of appreciating nature and sitting on their back deck with a glass of wine. While there are opportunities to do that, there is also a huge variety of clubs, activities and volunteer organizations inside the Big Canoe gates that can possibly keep residents busy every day of the year!

Big Canoe Chapel

Big Canoe Chapel

The Big Canoe Chapel is located in Wolfscratch Village in the heart of Big Canoe. It hosts fellowship groups, Bible studies, and a Ladies Guild for all women residents of Big Canoe. There is also a Big Canoe Chapel choir, women’s chorus, men’s chorus and The Chapel Bells, a handbell choir, all perfect options for musically inclined residents.

So Much to Choose From

Whether your interests lie in social pursuits like playing bridge, dining with new friends, or volunteering in the community, the choices of activities are plenty. New residents often jump into various clubs and activities to see what they enjoy most and stay with the ones that works best for them. Others take it slow, getting to know people and joining clubs and activities after adjusting to the relaxing pace that Big Canoe provides. Either way, one can never say there’s nothing to do in Big Canoe.
