When you start your search for a Michigan home for sale you have to think of where you want to live. The choice of your city will usually have an effect on what your home will be worth in the future. Cities with good schools will usually hold their value better and usually increase in value better. So do you move to a city like Detroit that has poor schools or do you consider a move to Plymouth Michigan where the school system is ranked better than Detroit schools. School rankings and test scores are usually an indicator of areas where home values tend to rise over time.
Narrowing down where you want to live because of commuting time to work, closeness to family, and proximity to friends and places of worship are all important. Drive time to all these important functions do make a difference on where you live. So take the time to think about all the important things in your life. It doesn't make sense to buy a Lakefront home in Highland if your are going to have to drive two or two and half hours on a snow day. Or 90 minutes on a normal day. Or if it takes you 40 minutes to get to your mother-in-laws to drop them off so they can be watched.
Little items like that may influence your decison on where to live. For more Michigan home buyer tips feel free to call me with questions. My goal is to help you buy a good home that you love. Remember I offer a great buyers bonus too.
