How Do You Get Noticed When You Can't Roller Skate in a Buffalo Herd!

It is too windy today to stack BB's and even though it is nice weather...it is still too cold to gargle peanut butter...so I thought I would write a blog about being Noticed...or not (being noticed that is).

I got a Facebook post today that we all get...a link to another musician or talent or Listing or sad story or joke or...place your choice here: _______________________.BUffalo i8n Central Nebraska by Mike McCann Nebraska Land Broker

We all get them and some are truly really gifts to us and most are...well, let's be honest...time wasters.

But your finger is itchy and you want to click...but only have a minute or so...do you click or do you not?

Of course most of us click...and once in a great while...it is voila... Awesome.  You do to click...I know you do...

But once there...usually it is boring... or mundane...or makes your blood pressure rise...and really does not do anything positive for you on a personal or professional basis.

But then  I open the Active Rain email...and see the links and that still itchy finger Clicks ...and YES...even though some are not for me or may make my blood pressure rise...  generally they do something positive for me...and some (many?) are excellent in raising my awareness of a subject or gives me an idea that will help my career in the future.

Which brings me to today's reason for writing.

I am still trying to figure out how best to be noticed in a Buffalo Herd where I look like most of the other members of the pack...

So if you have read this far...

What are one or two of your top five ways to get Noticed while surrounded by the Herd of buffaloes in your neighborhood?

I really want to know because I would like to be noticed more and really do not want to reinvent the wheel while doing it!! Please share your thoughts!!!

By the way the FB post I got today was for a singer in Salt Lake... www.MikeMasse.com   What a great singer and I will go watch and listen to him if I ever make it his direction!

Until next time...

I haven't heard ( or is it "herd") that ole Roger Miller tune, "You can't Roller Skate in a Buffalo Herd" for years and years.  Thanks for the memories!

As for getting noticed, I recall a Sesame Street children's song, "One of These Things is Not Like the Other."

As for Facebook, and the "clicking."  A couple years ago, I "unfriended" a number of folks who seem to have an OCD problem, and would spam my Facebook feed with all sorts of stuff that seemed trivial, politically confrontational, or jokes that were a gazillion years old.

However, more recently, I have discovered you don't need to "unfriend" those folks, you can simply "unfollow" them.  That way they remain among your friends, so you can contact them if you choose, but they don't show up on your newsfeed!

CONGRATULATIONS on having this blog FEATURED in the Old Fart’s Club group!
