Sorry about the Missing C, Y, & S’s  I Think Toshiba Ate Them

My old Dell died bak in August leaving me needing to buy a computer quickly.

Being a little ticked off at Dell at the time I choose a Toshiba thinking that after 14 years and well over a dozen Dells for my staff and myself it may be time for a change.

My first disappointment with the new computer was in the operating sytem, Windows 8.1, a Microsoft mistake that made it into a few blog posts.

Shortly thereafter I started noticing the Y’s were often vacant from my prose, and many of them I distinctly remember typing into my word.

Then Mr. S started disappearing from many of my words, especially at the ends of the words when I was typing fast.

This last month C has been more than truant, often nearly requiring a hammer to get the key to put a C where it belongs in so many words that I want to share with my friends and colleagues.

Unfortunately this is not the only Toshiba that has made it into the office this year prompting another person across the room to voice some frustration as well, and it turns out they have also been having problems for many months with lazy keys on their Toshiba's.

Something tells me we may never buy another one of these computers, they have now joined the do not buy club along with Compaq and HP, maybe it is time to give Dell another chance, they have produced some very good computers for us in the past.

So bak to the point of my blog, if you see a plae where you think that there should be one of these absent letters, just close your eyes and imagine that it is there, because it was before my Toshiba ate it.

Good morning Bob. You have much more patience than me, that computer would have been out the door in a hurry.  Currently using a Samsung laptop.

Good morning Bob. I don't think anybody makes a good PC. That's why call them pieces of crap! I will stick with my Macs as long as I can.

Good morning, Bob Crane I always had Toshiba computers, but they're not what they use to be!!!!  I have a Dell... it's basic, disposable in my opinion (paid short money for it) but it works well....I have one at home and one in the office....happy with them...

That stinks, Bob.  I bought a cheap Toshiba a few years back and I think it only lasted a year. never again.

My dog tripped over my dell and now I am missing the key covers for the S, the P and the I - amazing what your fingers get used to doing without!

Tech issues are always so frustrating...I had a dell years ago and it was good and I like my HP laptop too...

I'm giving serious consideration to going all Mac when my main PC finally dies. Every single person I know that uses Mac's is happy with them, meanwhile, most PC users I know are frustrated.

That's super frustrating!  I need a new computer, too.  Waiting for Windows 10. A friend who I trust with technology advice is a fan of Asus computers.

Bob- this is so funny!  Larry has had to take my Lenovo Thinkpad apart to clean the keyboard and unstick the "shift" button from time to time. No one liked Windows 8!

I'm on my 3rd or 4th Toshiba.

It's time to move on usually when the keyboard is fully wiped out. At this point, I have one or two letters that don't like me so much, though half the keys are no longer legible since I've pounded them so much that the letters have worn off.  That's been the problem with the prior generations too.

Bob

I would ask Toshiba to replace the computer . .  . . and Microsoft to replace the software . . . .

Good luck and success.
