Conflict is inevitable. It can destroy and it can create. Both danger and opportunity are present in a conflict situation, but the result obtained depends on the management and resolution of the conflict. The outcome of the conflict depends on how each party responds to the negative and emotional charges of the situation, and the third party role could be critical. With skilled intervention, conflict has the potential of developing better communication, more effective solutions, and greater empathy.

How can one avoid conflict?  By thinking of the other person's feelings.  Take on some humility.

I sure could use some in times like these.  Lord, help me to love others like you do.

5 Comments on A little dose of humility

Most of the problems we have today are because we are too concerned with our own shoes...and lord help up us if we step on someone else's shoes...

Can't we all just get along?!

Lu, I like that part about both danger and opportunity being present in a conflict setting. The conflict can just be a difference of opinion and doesn't need to be a real serious one. Good post and attitude.

In the heat of the moment it can be extremely difficult to exercise humility, all the more reason to consciously strive to set emotions aside when conflicts arise.
