Build Hidden Valley AZ nextdoor Neighborhood by Getting a Dog Park!

Let's work to persuade the City of Prescott to make a dog park for our Hidden Valley Ranch neighborhood. As far as I know, the only public dog park in Prescott, Arizona is located near the intersection of Willow Creek Road at Commerce Dr. about 7.75 miles from Haisley and Highway 89. The route to get there runs through the center of Prescott. That dog park is around 2.25 acres. It would be great to have a dog park that is closer. It would also be great to have a place where I could take my dog, Beau, where he can be legally "off leash."

The next step is to have a meeting to build a following of those who might support the project. Let's see if we can get the Clubhouse at Hidden Valley Ranch or even the one in Mountain Club. Our boundary includes Cathedral Pines, Forest Hylands, Haisley Homestead, Mountain Club as well as Summit Pointe. That is nearly 3,000 households. Our neighborhood has lots of voters. The City of Prescott has money to purchase open space. We need to build a following that is influential enough to be heard by the Prescott City Council.

I hope this project will help us build our hiddenvalleyaz.nextdoor.com neighborhood. If you don't know about the nextdoor application, check out my blog post about the fun of making your own neighborhood at nextdoor.com!

Thanks, Sharon Tara! He is really my wife's dog but he adopted me because I take him to the country where he can chase deer, antelope and the wild burros.

He absolutely lives to herd cattle but he gets in trouble with the ranchers for doing that.

John, I hope your City does approve the dog park, they are so popular and buyers are searching for them, and buying their homes around them!

Thanks for your encouragement, Joan Cox.  I think we really need a dog park in south Prescott. I am excited to find a project that I think can bring our neighborhood together. I am a really conservative guy and usually against the City of Prescott spending money on public projects. It will give me a chance to "reach across the aisle" and work on a project that everyone can support. I want to be a UNITER and not a DIVIDER.

Joan Cox -- The city has money for OPEN SPACE. It we can make the dog park appear as an open space project, I think there is money to buy the land if the dog park is considered an open space project. There is a great pool of enthusiasts who constantly campaign to get more open space.

Shadow and I will support you from Henderson NV where he loves to go to Heritage Bark Park. If you get the space, I think it would be great if dog owners could donate a tree or park bench in memory of their favorite pet(s).

Thanks, John Novak , for your encouragement. I am finding the development of my nextdoor.com neighborhood to be difficult. It realy cramps my style not to be able to load pictures.
