Lost, Stand Still

Though it has been an overwhelmingly busy week this week, I am still helping out at the Franciscan house as I try to always do a few afternoons on any week that I am in town.

And it is a good thing since there is always a great need.

Today after things calmed down and Fr Finnian who I was working with left for home I was doing a bit of paperwork when I happened upon a cool little poster that Fr. Placid had set out and I thought that my internet friends may enjoy it too.

So if you are feeling a bit lost, or think you may someday, take a look at the poster and enjoy…

Lost, Stand Still.

The trees ahead and bushes beside you are not lost.

Wherever you are is called Here,

and you must treat it as a powerful stranger,

Must ask permission to know it and be known.

The forest breathes.  Listen.

It answers; I have made this place around you.

If you leave it, you may come back again, saying Here.

No two trees are the same to Raven.

No two branches are the same to Wren.

If what a tree or a bush does is lost on you,

You are surely lost.  Stand still.  The forest knows

Where you are.  You must let it find you.

Easy to walk into the woods ad get lost.  Going out nothing lloks the same and it isn't.  It is a different angle.

I make a habit of looking over my sholder to try and gain a vision of what going out may look like.

If lost, stay put so people loooking for you don't have to search an area twice.
