Somethings There Is A Tradeoff!
When working in an apartment community there are times when you have to work around the schedules of others. With this comes a trade off by all those involved. If all parties work together and are willing to make some sacrifices, work can get done.
We are doing some stabilization work to the framing of the floor and ceiling of a unit, there seems to be a lot of movment that the resident noticed. To do this project, we have to get inside his unit and get access to the problem areas. However, he has limited us to a small window of time – 3 hours a day, 3 days a week.
Now this is not a lot of time we we have to set up and clean up in our usual fashion. The resident has allowed us to cut some corners on our end to allow more working time to do the repairs. We can see one example in the photo. Rather than patch the hole in the ceiling each day with drywall, we are covering the opening with plastic. This is quicker to remove and replace.
This may not be the best way to schedule a job but the resident is a long term resident, one that the manager want to have sty around. We told her that we would do what we can to make things work out for all involved.
