First Time Homebuyer-Need help with your closing costs? 

HomePath is launching HomePath Ready Buyer program, a comprehensive online homebuyer education course. First Time Homebuyers who complete this education course by their initial offer may request up to 3% closing cost assistance toward the purchase of a HomePath property and reimbursement of the HomePath Ready Buyer training cost.

I looked at the HomePath website and the cost for the course is $75.00.  It will be reimbursed to you if you buy a HomePath home and your real estate agent submits that you completed the course with the initial offer. 

The 3% closing costs help would look like this: You purchase a home for $150,000. HomePath will pay 3% of the sales price of your closing costs so $150,000 x 3%= $4500 that they will pay on your behalf. Now that is alot of money in your piggy bank. Closing costs can run about 4-6% of your loan amount so 3% paid for you is a significant savings! It is always good to put money back in your piggy bank, especially when buying your first home!  

There are always rules for FREE money so this is how you are eligible for the offer, the nuts and bolts of it: 

To be eligible for the offer:

• Buyers must complete the full online HomePath Ready Buyer training course on www.homepath.com and receive the Certificate of Completion.
   
• The request for closing cost assistance must be made at initial offer in the HomePath Online Offers system on or after April 14, 2015.
   
• Must be First Time Homebuyer (did not own a property in the past three years) and plans to reside in the property as their primary residence.
   
• Auction, pool and investor sales are not eligible.
