Mud Season, a Great Time to Visit Steamboat Springs, CO

Steamboat Springs locals and visitors enjoyed a fun closing weekend at Steamboat Resort as legendary reggae band, Steel Pulse, brought our ski season to a close with their incredible music. It was awesome!

Now that the mountain is closed for skiing, our town enjoys a little "mud season" before the Resort opens again for mountain biking and festivities and our summer fun begins. Mud season, our unofficial 5th season, is when many of our businesses take a little time off before the busyness of the next tourist season. Locals enjoy this time because the town is quiet, parking is plentiful and businesses run outstanding specials.

Some years we really do have mud to contend with but not so much this year. Our trails have dried out quite a bit already, flowers are in bloom, and the sandhill cranes are back in the valley to raise their young.

A few things to note if you are planning on visiting Steamboat Springs, CO this month:

1) you may want to avoid construction on Hwy 9 , 2) call ahead to ensure your favorite restaurant is open, 3) heed the "trail closed" signs if you come across them. Some parks and trails in Steamboat Springs experience temporary closures to allow wildlife to have their young without human interruption or to allow trails to dry out completely to avoid further erosion, 4) if you are interested in looking at real estate in Steamboat Springs, give me a call.

Most importantly, enjoy yourself while you are here. Steamboat Springs is special, soak it up.

Stay in touch via Facebook too.

Charlie

Charlie, thanks to Pamela Seley, REALTOR® I just came over to take in your video expertise! Love love LOVE this! I can't believe I haven't found you til now. You found some wonderfully relaxed people to interview and your own pieces were delightful, too. (I'ts always great to have a dog who knows how to be in frame!)

I loved Colorado and Steamboat Springs sticks in my mind as I drove through it on my way to Oregon, waaaay back in 1979. I figured that if I didn't love OR, I would find my way back to CO! I love it here, tho.

Wonderful "stuff"--keep 'em comin'!

Hey Gail Rich-Boxman thanks for the kind words. As a Seattle native, I'm a big fan of the NW so I can see why you stayed on OR.

And thanks to you Pamela Seley from spreading the word on the uses of video . . .
