Cruise Across Camp: Have fun, get messy, change an urban child's life.

I'll be running or at the very least walking the 5K-run  on May 9, 2015

 Each year we gather Saturday morning in early May for the annual fundraiser to benefit our urban youth

 camp programs. At The Oaks we have always been about changing lives among America’s inner cities.

 For many of our urban campers, their camp experience here is a unique refuge away from distractions

 and burdens at home. Cruise Across Camp is your opportunity to partner with our mission to provide for

 under-privileged children to come to camp.

The goal of Cruise Across Camp 2015 is twofold.

We want our participants to have a blast as they trek across

our beautiful camp property in our 5K and Kids' 1 Mile. 

This year will be even more fun as we are offering some fun (voluntary) challenges along the way: 

getting messy in our mud pits,

getting splattered with paint,

getting soaked with water throughout the course!

(Remember, these challenges are not mandatory and all participants

will be able to choose to participate along the way or not.)

Our second, and just as important goal, is to raise funds for camper scholarships. These

scholarships give inner-city kids the opportunity to come to camp at The Oaks for a week

this summer--an opportunity they couldn't afford otherwise.

Our goal is to raise $30,000. We are asking each participant in the Cruise Across Camp races to raise at

least $100 for this cause. After you have registered, you will be able to set up your own personal fundraising

page which makes it super-easy to share and collect donations. Remember, every dollar raised goes toward 

helping an inner-city child come to camp.
