Throw Back Thursday! Granny's Home
I was going through my pictures and ran across Granny's home. Jeez I miss her. Her home is for sale right now and in Option Pending. After her death her home was sold to a non relative. (That in itself was a tragedy).
The home was a four-sided red brick house. There were so many fond memories there; many of her great grandchildren want to go into the home one last time to show their children the home.
Granny was a cookie making fend. She always had at least five kinds of cookies stored in the largest reclaimed pickle glass jars. The mail man was always happy to get his cookies for the day after taking her mail.
Afternoons were spent sitting on the side patio sipping coffee or iced tea with a cookie or not. We enjoyed good ole conversations.
My fondest memory was of finding her standing on the roof of her home at about 86 years of age; sweeping the leaves off. That was the last time she got away with that.
The only thing left to say is ... Thank you Granny for teaching me how to make the best gravy in the whole world! My grand kids told me last week, "this gravy is so good you must have put your foot in it!" Which translates that I went all out for a fantabulas flavor. For that I thank you Granny!
