Have you been online shopping for new furniture and ways to update your home? Or are you just tired of your home décor? What if we told you there is a way to update your home décor for just a few dollars. Do it yourself projects (DIY) have taken off to a whole new level and one of our favorites was submitted by South County Mermaids, Reupholstered Folding Chairs.
Here’s what you’ll need;
Folding chairs – may find free on Craigslist or a great price at your local garage sale
Fabric : $6 +/-
Spray Paint : $3.88 at Walmart
Stable Gun : $9 at Home Depot
1. Using a screwdriver, remove the cushions from the chairs and set aside.
2. Wipe down the chairs with a damp cloth
3. Using slow side to side movements apply two thin coats of spray paint (color of your liking) and let dry overnight. If your chairs are original a dark color you may want to apply a primer before the spray paint
4. Lay out your new fabric and place the cushions face down. Trim the fabric 3” away from the edge of the cushions
5. Attach fabric using staple gun. Begin by stapling at the center of each side and then at the corners
6. Once chair is dry, assemble with new cushion and begin enjoying your new chairs
