BOOM!  Nuked by the AszerBOMB.  Go get'em, Joey.

Nice Catch!  Wow, I find it hard to believe somebody would actually do that!  And the "about me" section too!

04/11/2008 03:53 PM by TRAVIS WOLFE (WhiteWolfe Mortgage)

Joey...

If he is a member on AR this is against the AR Guidelines.

You're calling him out.

If he's not a member I hope he reads your Blog :)

Nice post.

Pretty post.

Sic 'em. Woof :)

TLW...ROAR!

04/11/2008 03:53 PM by "The Lovely Wife"...Broker Bryant's Wife... (Co-Owner Tutas Towne Realty, Inc.)

He's been a bad boy.  How can people think that they can get away with copying your work?  Sick'em

04/11/2008 03:55 PM by Debbie Summers (RE/MAX Central - Lake Mary, FL)

The text is too small to read. Can I assume he plagiarized something of yours? I believe you can file a complaint for copyright violation.

04/11/2008 04:09 PM by Lisa Hill (Daytona Beach Real Estate) (Adams Cameron and Company)

I echo TLW's comment....

It's a shame this stuff happens Joey.

04/11/2008 04:13 PM by Jason Sardi, Pennsylvania Mortgage Broker (First Choice Equity Group Inc.)

Yikes!  I compared them side-by-side.  That is a terrible violation on several levels.  The fact that it is hidden text is also considered a "black hat" SEO tactic.  Report him to Google, Yahoo, etc. as well.

04/11/2008 04:58 PM by Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (Austin Texas Homes, LLC)

Oh No! I mean, who does this kind of thing? Oh, I know... Josh does. Scary.

04/11/2008 05:47 PM by Portland Oregon Real Estate Broker * Jennifer Bukaty * (RE/MAX equity group, inc.)

JOEY, Jason has better eyes than me I couldn't read it but its good that he did it for me.  Even though copying is supposed to be the highest level of flattery, its not when ITS YOUR WEBSITE OR BLOG!!  I had someone copy mine but just enough to be similar, at least they changed the wording.

04/11/2008 05:49 PM by Marchel Peterson Spring TX Real Estate E-Pro ABR (Results Realty)

It's sad that somebody has to resort to that.  How foolish!

04/11/2008 06:03 PM by Wayzata Lakes Realty: Eric Kodner Sells Luxury Homes

Joey,
It's stealing!  You did the right thing to call him on it and make it public.  Is he a member of AR?  Well if so, not for much longer is my bet.

04/11/2008 06:06 PM by Cynthia Tilghman, RealtorĀ® Onslow County NC Home Specialist (Kingsbridge Realty, Inc)

Joey, do a Who-Is search to see if you can determine his Web host. Contact the host and they will shut the site down. Most Web host's guidelines state that sites cannot post content that infringes upon anyone's copyright. If the Web host's name is not given in the Who-Is search, you may be able to determine it from the DNA name server name.

04/11/2008 06:22 PM by Kay Steele Faulk - The Real Estate Copywriter (InHouse Writer)

Good for you Joey on calling this clown out. If he ever walks into my office the door will be hitting him in the ** on his way out.

04/11/2008 08:26 PM by Cameron Wilson: Murrieta/Temecula/ Menifee California Real Estate (Century 21 Tri Valley Realty)

Paul: The internet is a funny thing. It's painful to make your mistakes in public...especially in the 'rain.

Travis: I suppose it would make more sense to call that section "About Joey". Thanks for visiting.

TLW: You are a welcome kitty in my doghouse anytime. WOOF!

04/11/2008 08:32 PM by Hemet Home Loan Guy, Joey Aszterbaum (Patrion Mortgage)

Debbie: You know what's wierd...this isn't the first time. Good to hear from you.

Lisa: I wouldn't even know where to start. But the copyright violation probably isn't as bad as what happens when you google "josh painter mortgage" or "josh painter loans" anyways.

Jason: He could have at least copied someone good. :)

04/11/2008 08:38 PM by Hemet Home Loan Guy, Joey Aszterbaum (Patrion Mortgage)

Jason: Report him to google? How? I think he's getting enough abuse out here...probably will never do it again. Wow...the blogging community really comes out in force when this happens. I'm beginning to feel kinda bad for the guy...

Darcy: You do mortgages...maybe you can copy my website, too! :) Thanks for stopping in.

JenJen: The day started off so great for you...sunlight bursting in through the bay windows...sorry to ruin it with the ugly stuff!

04/11/2008 08:41 PM by Hemet Home Loan Guy, Joey Aszterbaum (Patrion Mortgage)

Marchel: Thank God he didn't steal my fashion sense!

Eric: I'd say it was an honest mistake...but when the text is hidden it seems less than honest.

Cynthia: Umm...yes, he's an AR member. I thought linking to him would be a little over the top. And I've already helped him with his web copy without pay...I'm not going to give him link love!

04/11/2008 08:46 PM by Hemet Home Loan Guy, Joey Aszterbaum (Patrion Mortgage)

Elaine: There's a kid's book called Go, Dogs, Go! that I used to read when I was young, and now read to my kids. I couldn't help but think about that when I saw your comment. Thanks for your support and friendship.

Kay: I hadn't thought of that. Until you said it. I wrote them and 'requested' that they take it down.

Cameron: Thanks for visiting my blog...I'll head over to yours and check it out. Come back soon.

Lisa: You know you need more words for that 25 points, right? :) thanks for your friendship and for stopping in.

04/11/2008 08:49 PM by Hemet Home Loan Guy, Joey Aszterbaum (Patrion Mortgage)

Smart, smart, smart, smart, smart, smart, smart, smart, smart, smart @ss Joey :)

Josh is still dumb.

04/11/2008 09:47 PM by Lisa Heindel, New Orleans West Bank Real Estate (Latter & Blum Inc. Realtors)

Elaine: :)

Lisa:  There you go...that's more than 25 words.

04/11/2008 09:59 PM by Hemet Home Loan Guy, Joey Aszterbaum (Patrion Mortgage)

Joey - glad you were able to find out about it and put him in his place.  NO EXCUSES!! He needs to take it down!

04/12/2008 06:13 AM by n d (Naoma Doriguzzi)

Joey, have him give Lenn a call and ask about copyright violations.  Do you want me to send a cease & desist letter on my attorney letterhead?

04/12/2008 06:23 AM by Brian Block -- Northern Virginia & D.C. Real Estate (RE/MAX Allegiance)

Way to go by putting him on notice. It's a shame people have to resort to this.

04/12/2008 09:19 AM by Michael Setunsky (Michael's Commercial LLC)

Naoma: It's funny how I found out. I googled something or other and came across his website. On the google search page, I recognized the language. (Isn't that wierd how we remember the web copy we did so long ago, even if we don't like it and it's outdated?) But when I went to his site it wasn't there. On a whim I highlighted the page...voila! I don't think he'll do it again. He's already gone in there and changed the language...although it's keyword spam. (heck...my web copy on that site is just North of keyword spam anyways. I've been meaning to change it for years but have other important projects ahead of it.)

Brian: I've seen Ms. Harley go off on copyright violations and wondered if she'd show up here. He has, as I mentioned to Naoma, changed the web copy now. But I'll keep Brian Block, Attorney at Law on retainer. :)

Michael: Must be a noob. It's such a rookie mistake.

04/12/2008 10:10 AM by Hemet Home Loan Guy, Joey Aszterbaum (Patrion Mortgage)

Joey, this happened to me not to long ago and I called the agent and had him delete his/my post!  I was really upset as I can see you are!   We work too hard to have people steal our work!

04/13/2008 12:38 PM by Lake Norman Real Estate ~ Diane Aurit (RE/MAX at the Lake)

OMG!!!  Glad he noticed - he's right there in your back yard!!  Slacker.

04/13/2008 05:16 PM by Eleanor Thorne, Cary Mortgage Loans (Meridian Residential)

Ok, wow...so make sure you put his name in one of your keywords on your post so when people googling him they find this.  Jeez!

04/14/2008 05:01 PM by Shannon Lefevre Naples, Florida CRS (John R. Wood REALTORS Inc.)

Diane: I was surprised for sure. Not that offended...but I sure don't want him profiting from professional laziness.

Eleanor: I was talking about you today to my boss. I'm so impressed with you and your willingness to share and encourage. Keep up the great work.

Shannon: Well....have you googled "Josh Painter loans" or "Josh Painter Mortgage"? The dangers of the internet age.
