Where Is The "REBLOG" Button?

Where Is The "REBLOG" Button?

I ask "where is the reblog button" after attempting to reblog a couple of interesting ActiveRain posts that"

1.  I found interesting and enjoy "spreading the word",

2.  A reblog is a very high form of recommendation, especially for a post that is not featured,

3.  Reblogs will attract more first impressions than a comment.

4.  Yes, it IS a PUBLIC post.

What I don't understand is a great post that doesn't permit me to reblog.

Would someone kindly explain??

Could it be a case of the writer not allowing "reblogs"?  I can't imagine why you wouldn't want it shared, but sounds like they unchecked the "allow reblogs" option.

Good morning, Lenn Harley that blogger doesn't understand the power of a reblog....just to get a dose of the Google juice provided via Lenn Harley is a reason to make that button visible....learning to blog on AR is process and needs attention or the blogger misses out.

Yes Lenn, You can always re-blog my posts. I NEVER uncheck that box.

I'm sure they don't appreciate the value of a re-blog by you.

Jeff.  That button is not on Pat's post.

I believe it's a selection that a member can make when they post an article.

Lenn- I can see the "reblog" button on your post so could it be that the blogger neglected to check the "allow others to reblog my post" button?

Kathy.  BINGO!!!

I didn't believe it appropriate to identify the writer of the post without the reblog button selected.

My question was not whether but WHY.

Then, when folks attempted to verify my information, they looked only at posts where the reblog butten WAS selected and . . . . . .

Dare I say it??  Doubted my sanity???  NEWS FLASH.  I doubt my sanity daily.

Sharon.  That is just what happened.

Barbara.  I agree completely.  I love the reblog feature.  It permits me to give a little boost to a blog I find helpful, informative or funny.

Bill.  You're very kind.

Julie.  Good for you.

I think it's a personal decision in the settings to allow a reblog or not.

You do.

Jay.  No question there.  My question was simply why would anyone not want their post reblogs.

It's like getting syndicated for free.

Indeed I do, always.  Anytime a member reblogs my post, it leads right back to my blog.  I believe you do too because I often reblog your posts when I can add a personal experience related to the topic.

Lenn, I appreciate those who allow re-blogs. I've discovered many good bloggers from someone's re-blog.

Mike.  Thanks.  If the reblogger just reblogs, not so much.  However, if the reblogger writes a nice introduction, it's often as good as the blog.

Lenn the only thing that makes sense to me is what Kathy said about the blogger not allowing the post to be re-blogged.  I do see the re-blog button on this blog.

Good morning Lenn. I too can't understand why anyone wouldn't want to have their post re-blogged.

George.  That reblog button you see isn't from my page.  Jeff took it from a page that had the reblog checked.

Sheila.  BINGO!!  THAT is the question.

Joshua.  Sure.  In this case, though, I suspect that the original writer, "unselected" the reblog button.

Many don't understand that a reblog is in no way duplicate content.
