Body Image and Eating Disorders Talk at Katy Junior High School

Seven Lakes Junior High School which is part of the Katy ISD school system will host a special talk on Body Image and Eating Disorders. The talk will be conducted by Lauren Scott MS, RD, LD and will held on Tuesday April 28, 2015. The talk begins at 1 PM.

Dr. Scott is a pediatric dietitian at Texas Children’s Hospital, She is experienced at working with teens who are having and experiencing body image issues along with eating disorders.This presentation is a parents only meeting and children are not allowed.

Numerous teens have significant body image and eating disorder issues. this talk hopefully will assist parents who need help dealing with these issues.

This is a very important topic for kids today, especially girls. They are being bombarded with magazine and media images of impossibly thin models who have been airbrushed into fantasy land. Couple that with the hormones, chemicals, and additives in our foods that sabotage a healthy body, and it's all become a perfect storm - both psychologically and physically!
