Classic Beauties at Vintage Reserve Garage in Lodi

Last week while visiting Lodi, in nearby San Joaquin County, it wasn’t only the sculptures of J. Seward Johnson that I found interesting. For those interested in classic cars, there is Vintage Reserve Garage on Walnut Street at the corner of Cherokee Lane. The garage has a unique car collection showcased in a setting from another automotive era.

It was difficult deciding which I liked better - the shiny black Bentley, or the 1955 Chevy BelAir, similar to one I owned for only a few days back in 1962.  Because it was a convertible, my dad had made me return it.  I paid just $745.00 for it back then.  I can only imagine its value today.

For classic car aficionados in the Greater Sacramento Region, if you are ever in the neighborhood of Vintage Reserve Garage, you might wish to pay them a visit.

Bruce Walter - I think the 55 and 57 Chevys are among my favorites too.  I also like the 56.

Jack Mossman - The Nines Team in Stockton - There's an interesting side story about John Fogerty's writing of the song, "Stuck in Lodi Again."  Fogerty admitted later that he had never actually visited Lodi before writing the song. He simply picked up the name, because he liked the sound of it.  If Fogerty were to visit Lodi today, he'd likely think it was a really cool place!

 I love vintage cars there used to be a great one in Napa at Far Neinte it was cool I wonder if they are still there. I think I like the Bentley better LOL!

This was from back in the day when you could change your own oil and work on your own car, which I used to do because it was less expensive than taking it into the shop. Nowadays, I pay about $200 for an oil change, if you can believe it.

I recently sold a house and when I was viewing it for the first time when we pulled open the barn door we found a mint condition woodie.  It was amazing and my buyer got the car with the house.

You are so right as they are all beauties! Thanks for sharing and when we drive up that way I bet my husband would love to stop and see them. He is a car nut! We went to a really cool museum in Fairbanks AK and they had vintage clothing, accessories etc. It was a fun adventure.

Good morning Myrl! Those cars are fantastic and the signs are too. The Rambler sign especially as I remember my dad coming home with an Ambassador station wagon (1962) with push button automatic transmission for my mom who never was able to master a manual clutch
