Poteet Strawberry Festival
April 11, 12 & 13, 2008

The Poteet Strawberry Festival^® is one of the oldest, most popular events in the state of Texas, and is recognized as the largest agricultural festival in Texas as well as one of the most exciting, dynamic festivals in the Greater Southwest.

The 100 acre site, which is located on Hwy. 16, 20 minutes south of San Antonio, offers free parking, clean public restrooms, handicapped accessibility, complete RV facilities, and tent covered activities during the fun filled Festival Weekend.

The Poteet Strawberry Festival^® includes fourteen areas of continuous, family entertainment featuring concerts with nationally known Country Western and Tejano stars, dancers, gunslingers, clowns, puppets, regional bands, various contests, and rodeo performances. These activities are included in the price of a $10.00 admission ticket. Children age 12 and under are admitted free of charge as well as active, reserve and retired military with proper ID.

This is the same weekend that we are having the First Active Rain Gathering & BBQ in Bandera. As we say in Texas it is just a few miles down the road so plan on visiting both. The AR BBQ on Saturday and the Poteet Strawberry Festival on Sunday. http://www.strawberryfestival.com

What better way to promote his new album "Troubadour" than to do it in the town where he was born...Poteet, Texas.
George Strait has graciously given the Poteet Strawberry Festival an autographed guitar to be auctioned at the Taste of Texas Auction on Sunday, April 13, at 3:00 PM, during the 61st Annual Poteet Strawberry Festival. All proceeds will go into the George Strait Scholarship Fund to be issued to deserving Poteet Seniors in his honor

Yes Dale - Lots going on everywhere this weekend over here in Texas. Winetrail which I blogged last week, Strawberry Festival at Poteet and of course the AR Gathering at Bandera. Lots of county's also having Market Days.

Then comes Fiesta, which Judi will be expanding with her great blogs; just one thing after another. The weather is picture perfect, cool evenings and mid to high 80's during the day. The lawn is greening nicely. Infact, Ceil's lilttle swallow that built her nest on our patio hatched the babies today. She said she was going to try to get pictures. They build the darnest nest on such a small place. This little swallow comes every year back to the same place.

Have a nice weekend. I doublt if I will be around until late tomorrow night. About a 50 mile drive over to Bandera and of course 50 miles home. I think the folks coming from Houston are spending the night.

Hey Carl, We do have a busy busy weekend -- Poteet Strawberry Festival, the Winetrail and of course our Texas Active Rain Gathering & BarBeQue!!!

Sure was great meeting everyone is Bandera today!!!

Hello Ms. Judi, Tom and Don - We just got in a few minutes ago; will make a few comment and head upsairs for some ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ's. Had a great day meeting everyone at the gathering. Thank you so much for helping to make it happen. I think everyone really enjoyed themself. Ceil went back twice for bread pudding. I think I tried a little of everything. Everything was excellent. Great Day @ Bandera AR Gathering.

Dale - It was a good time for alll of us. It was as if we had known each other for years. Lots of good folks in the group. It definitely shows why these select group of people are successful in what they do. I don't really know very many people on the AR but the people I have met are the best of the best.
