Nothing is better then Philadelphia and a Tastykake

When I worked in restaurant as a teen, our bread delivery man would bring us 'old' Tastykakes on Thursdays. We usually had to fight over them! They live up to their name. --Courtney

You can have my share of Tastykakes.....as much as I love food, I can pass on sweets and desserts.  These do sound delicious though.  If I'm going to indulge, give me a great loaf of Italian bread and butter.....or pizza, pasta.....all the carbs that are totally bad for me.

When I was at UNLV, some friends opened a sandwich shop called Olde Philadelphia. Great cheesesteaks, and that's also where I had my first Tastykake.

Mmmm tastykakes!  I love the peanut butter cups, and the eclairs the best.  To answer Doyle Lee Austin Davison Iv question, there are several places that sell them  (I've seen them at the "Philadelphia" style takeout places....I'll try to track one down for you and bring it to the meetup on the 11th if you'll be there. 

Hannah, now you've got me craving some food from back east....Tastykake coffee cakes go great with Dunkin Donuts coffee.  Some Herr's Chips aside a delicious cheesesteak!  I do miss the food, that's for sure.

Being diabetic, I don't eat sweets, but they weren't hard for me to give up.  I love my carbs though, and they all turn to sugar, so I can't even enjoy them.  But I have a weird stomach condition.....in spite of eating healthy, I eat too much because my stomach rumbles and churns constantly.  Intellectually I know I am not hungry, but my stomach doesn't seem to get the message, so I have gained 30 pounds.

Tastykakes and Pork Roll, East passions that never go away. My Mom put a pack of Krimpets in my lunch every day when I was a kid. I can still remember the wrappers that folded up in the back.

I like mine on a hard roll with a fried egg. We have had several local stores start carrying tastykakes then stop or only carry very minimal. 

I guess I'm in the minority here as I have never heard of a Tastykake. I asked my husband and while not foreign to him, he thinks it's a mass produced sweet and inexpensive snackfood; he's never had one. We're so out of touch in California, LOL.

Hannah Williams - wow - so at my next visit to Philadelphia, I'll have one of these....

I stock up on blueberry pies and butterscotch krimpets at each visit. I've been wanting to buy a 5 gal. bucket of that icing for decades, you know to put on my Twinkies. No, the Hostess kind Hannah!
