Breathe!

By
Real Estate Agent with Compass CA DRE# 01215160

Good morning! I woke early this morning, with my mind racing, thinking of all the tasks that need to be accomplished today:

  • organizing documents for my new listing and uploading them to My Doc Central so any interested buyers can read all about this great place;
  • finishing a web site for a new listing and getting the final touches done for tomorrow's open house;
  • checking to see if a rental house is still available (rentals are in high demand here, too) and if so arrange to show my clients whose house is pending--they need to be settled in just a couple of weeks;
  • buying some medical equipment my husband will need when he's discharged from rehab on Sunday;
  • driving across town and visiting with my husband, watching him get stronger and more mobile day by day;
  • researching and preparing an Opinion of Value letter for a past client who needs to know the value of her mother's condo at the date of death
  • and then there's the rest of the "ordinary" stuff - the notes, emails, telephone calls to clients, neighbors -- the stuff we do everyday

Time  blocking is the only way I'll get through today -- and I've blocked 30 minutes to do a bit of yoga and just breathe!

I love this picture of my friend taken on an evening hike in March - whenever I glance at it my mind says, "breathe."

Breathe!

Sounds like a busy day but it's good stuff! That's a terrific photo to remind us to take a few moments for ourselves - something I don't do. I am frantically finishing up a few things before jumping n the car and driving 6 hrs. to Phoenix for a wedding tomorrow. With 4 things in escrow it's a little busy but between the phone and iPad it will all be fine. And a little time to enjoy the desert and family is just the thing

Good luck with your day!

Enjoy the weekend!

Jeff

Lottie time blocking is a great strategy but you are right breathing is essential. Taking time to gather your mind and spirit is very necessary so don't get so distracted by tasks that you forget to take some time for yourself even if it's just 30 minutes. Have a great day!

Lottie: It's been like this for me for awhile, and I just get up and plow right in. I do give myself a break late in the afternoon whether it's going to have a Latte with a friend, or walking my dogs.

I can identify with the long list.  And I had such a long list of things all week.  But it ended with a few hours of snuggles with some beautiful kids tonight.  We loved it.

Jeff Dowler CRS - you're probably in the car now. Enjoy the time with your family--isn't it wonderful that we can keep all the balls in the air from wherever we are? We had some rain here last night; if you did, too, the desert will be extra beautiful. Enjoy the weekend.

Hi Tanya Van Blake-Coleman - time blocking is always wise, but during extra busy periods I find it essential. I did take time yesterday for a 30-minute walk, which does wonders for my sanity. Wishing you a great weekend.

Barbara Todaro - I admire your commitment to getting to the gym on a regular basis. When we take care of ourselves (hard to do!) everything else gets done much more smoothly.

Good morning Ron and Alexandra Seigel - your jaunts to the farmers' market must help you relax and breathe. Yoga, walks, laughing with friends - all good.

Hi John Meussner - hectic days for sure, but good ones. Wishing you a great weekend.

Lou Ludwig - second winds can be very productive times. All the best.

Hi Hella M. Rothwell, Broker/Realtor® - you're wise to realize the benefit of taking breaks, especially during these busy times.

Yes, Gita Bantwal - busy weekends, busy weeks. The essentials get done. They get done better if I take short breaks for breathing, focusing on the beauty, laughing. Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

Hi Regina P. Brown - thanks for stopping by, and for your well wishes. My husband is now home and rehab is going well. I made it to yoga class last Tuesday evening--hope to get to another one soon. Taking a bit of time to center and breathe makes getting through the hectic times that much easier. Best wishes to you.
