I just love this festival every year it gets better and better. Even though it is a little damp don't let that stop you. This is a family friendly event. You don't want to miss the food truck competition. I love our local food trucks! It does matter what you are in the mood for they can provide it! Celebrate Killeen Festival April 23-25
The annual Celebrate Killeen Festival is Thursday through Saturday. The public is invited to enjoy the free family fun.
The official kickoff party is Thursday night from 6 to 8 p.m. in historic Downtown Killeen at Green Avenue Market, 717 N. 2nd Street. Activities will include food trucks, craft vendors and kiddie train rides. Live music will be provided by The Voodoo & Moonshine Band.
The celebration continues Friday at the Killeen Community Center starting at 6 p.m. with a free comedy show featuring family-friendly comedian JR Brow and the inaugural Food Truck Competition.
A full day of fun is scheduled Saturday at the Killeen Community Center starting at 8 a.m. with the Fallen Heroes 5K run benefitting the Law Enforcement Assistance Fund.
Festival activities will be open Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and include entertainment, food, a petting zoo, pony rides, Kidfish and much more. An outdoor movie showing of Big Hero 6 starts at 8 p.m. at the Amphitheater. New this year is a fireworks show to conclude the festival.
