I have used hastags (#mytown, #realestate, and other topics that are popular) for several reasons and have gotten great results. If you look at the statistical data, users on mobile phones and especially on facebook are more likely to engage in content or "like" you when hashtags are used. So, I tried this theory the way we use to keep information unitl they liked our page. I had tremedous growth on my page during that time. I also believe that these same consumers are searching by hashtags; thus, it will also effect my seo.
