As a notary signing agent, we are also master-planners.:3: We take phone calls, set appointments, pick-up and deliver documents, catch FEDEX and UPS trucks, navigate traffic situations while printing docs, while waiting for that fax from escrow, while trying to choke down a quick bite.....

Then, the escrow officer calls and the docs are being redrawn with a change and are "coming soon", ......or some IDIOT in an f-350 decides to roll his truck and spill its contents across six lanes of freeway, ....or your borrower calls (if he is a courteous one) to say "I'm running late" and asks "I can use my credit card as my ID right?":2:, ....then the school nurse calls to say your kid isn't feeling well and you just happen to be 180 miles away ......and another signing company calls and asks "Can you be there in 20 minutes, and print docs, and I'm faxing over your escrow stuff right now, that's ok right?..and by the way we only pay $45 is that OK?:15:....and we need you to date everything yesterdays date...you don't have a problem with that do you?"

Do you folks out there believe this post is a complaint?

Heck NO! I LOVE THIS JOB!!! I thrive on this stuff. I can't get enough of it and hope it never ever goes away! I was made for this....Am I sick or what? :-)

I love being a Notary/Loan Signer.  I love the fact that each day is different and you never know what is going to happen when you wake up in the morning.

If your the type of person who must have a structured life and know what your job is everyday then this is not the career for you.  It's the right career for me!!

I got 2 of my friends in Riverside CA to become loan signers and they absolutely love this business.

They have both had their problems over the last year or so with difficult signings, late edocs, you name it.

This is their favorite job and it is certainly my favorite!

Cheers

Sounds like we all suffer from the same sickness. Hey, it definitely beats digging ditches. (Sorry, there's nothing wrong with ditch diggers.)

Steve- Thanks for the clarification for the sake of being PC...goodness, we have to be careful don't we?  I long for the old days when a guy could say how he felt...without tiptoe-ing...either way, I get your point and do love this job...still wish there was more work!

Yes the frustrations are constant and it's hard to make plans, but I love the Chaos!  I recently missed a meeting with a client for a major Commercial account because of a head cold. I was so worried that it would make a bad first impression!  Everything turned out okay but I was very stressed about it.
