Texas Women's University located in Denton, Texas features an exhibit to honor and recognize the Women of Texas who have pioneered, left their legacy's, and who will continue to represent the Women of Texas who are the most accomplished females in the State of Texas. Inductees include First Ladies, Astronauts, Athletes, Teachers and others representing the Arts, Education and Business.
This past Sunday I wandered into the Little Chapel in the Woods on TWU's campus. It's one of the tiniest chapels I've ever seen located on the most beautiful, spacious, and lavish grounds I've ever seen. The services were meaningful and I walked away to explore the grounds with greater peace and understanding. Below are some of the places where I walked. Enjoy!
My parting thoughts as I left the botanical gardens on TWU's grounds was the roots of honorable Texas Women who have made notable accomplishments grows deep in the Heart of Texas.
Walking the ground at TWU's gave me the courage to accept the things I cannot change and the inspiration to change the things I can. I am a soul searching, survivor of a time when women were not treated equal and I have the ability to accomplish more here on earth. I believe that every woman before me has felt the cutting blade with a blunt dull edge penetrating their psyche, spirits and their hearts. Many have suffered the pain of neglect, abuse, abandonment, betrayal, and unfairness. More have risen above the injustices bestowed upon them by society. From the depths of one's soul lies wisdom that every woman has the ability to discover. I've never gone to Texas Women's University; however, I would encourage every woman whoever dreamed of higher education to consider TWU in Denton, Texas.
